The Art Gallery of Swift Current is taking registrations for its annual arts camp this July.

Kim Houghtaling is the Director and Curator from the Gallery and tells up what the camp is all about.

"Art Camp is a great event for kids who are interested in art and outdoor activities and having summer fun.  Kids will gather at the Art Gallery of Swift Current at 9am and the Gallery vans will take them out to a wonderful camp along the creek just south of town," said Houghtaling.

This outdoors camp will get kids involved in not only art but the nature around them by the creek Hougtaling adds.

"Once outdoors we go on expeditions into the landscape doing art activities, drawing, painting and gathering. It will be a little bit about nature, little about archeology, geology any number of things, all involving visual art."

The camp runs July 14-18 for ages 10-13 years old and July 21 to 25 for ages 10-16 years old.

The camp is $160 for the week and subsidized registrations are available through Sask Culture and "Creative kids."

Registration goes till June 15th and you can contact the Gallery at 306-778-2736.
