Past Walleye Tournaments have always brought out a large number of boats.

 

This is the 26th year for the Reid Lake Catch and Release Walleye Tournament at Simmie.

The Shaunavon Wildlife Federation is expecting to see about 80 teams out for this years two day event happening this Saturday and Sunday July 8th and 9th. The Walleye Tourney offers up to $24,000 in cash and prizes.

Tyson Willman is the President of the Shaunavon Wildlife Federation. He says there are special prize categories that the competitors are entered in to. "Each day we'll have a Big Fish Competition and we draw for a Hidden Weight Competition too. And then there's also Cool Under Pressure, which is most improved from day one to day two."

Willman adds that this year they've also added a Tournament inside a Tournament that competitors can enter in to win cash.

The weekend begins Friday evening July 7th at seven o'clock with the Rules Meeting. The Cabin Owners Association will also be putting on a supper on Saturday evening and there will be a Beer Gardens.
