Folks got to rev off the dust from their old hot rods and cruise down to Elmwood Park over the weekend for the annual Riverside Rod Run.

The Eliminators Car Club hosted their event for the 42nd year, and have been gathering for meets as a crew for ten more.

Nathan Seibel, the public relations person for the club, said the park held 156 cars in total, 24 of which belonged to their members.

“It’s $15 to enter and anything is welcome,” Seibel said.

Ten businesses sponsored a trophy this year, and each one got to choose a winner to take home a plaque.

The Rod Run is a fun way to get the community together as well as celebrate a passion for cars, but that’s not all.

"We always have the food bank out,” Seibel said. “We get a lot of donations for them; money and food.”

The Eliminators actively host fundraisers for local charities throughout the year, their most popular being their cruises around town that started during the peak of COVID-19.

According to Seibel, their cruise on Friday night was their biggest one yet, with a count of over 125 cars partaking in the drive.
