There's a big increase in the latest retail trade numbers for Saskatchewan.

Retail sales in the province in May increased by almost two times the national average, going up by 7.6 per cent over May 2010, while the nation as a whole recorded a 4 per cent increase.

It's also the second highest percentage increase among the provinces, behind Alberta's 7.8 per cent.

Enterprise Minister Jeremy Harrison says the increases show the province's lower taxes and healthy economy is allowing family budgets to go futher than before.
