The air quality results from the Comprehensive High School are being called extremely encouraging by the Chinook School Division.

This comes after two types of mold, including black mold, were found in two classrooms, which have been sealed off since December 11th.

Thirteen air quality samples were taken from the school.  They were found to be normal, and contained common microbes found in most environments.

Compared to a control sample of outside air, the level of microbes from the samples of the air inside the school was actually lower.

Dr Don Figley, an environmental engineer, performed the assessment over the weekend, and will do a full inspection of the school on January 2nd.

In the meantime, professional cleanup of the affected classrooms will be done over the Christmas break.
