With students back in school, SGI is reminding motorists to drive cautiously in school zones.

There were nearly 25,000 convictions for speeding in school zones last year in Saskatchewan. There were also 96 convictions for disobeying a school bus signal.

Speeding fines in school zones start at $210 and increase for every kilometre per hour the driver exceeds the limit. There's also a penalty of three demerit points.

Students are also reminded to cross safely - by not jay walking or using cell phones.
