Dr. David Torr, is the consulting medical health officer for the Rural Saskatchewan Health Region. He's been active in the Hutterite communities since the outbreak was declared.

Together with the Hutterian Safety Council COVID-19 taskforce, they posted a two-page missive on the SHA's website talking about recent events and its impact on the communities affected.

"We recognize that we are linked through our common humanity, our common susceptibility to disease and sickness. However, we are also aware of how rapidly stigmatizing individuals or peoples can cause division and conflict."

This came after a number of colonies that had, to that point, remained unaffected by the pandemic came forward to express concerns about stigmatization when the SHA chose to publish the location of the most recent outbreak.

The full statement is posted below and is available on the Saskatchewan Health Authority's website.
