Shaunavon Mayor Grant Greenslade has announced that he will not be running in the upcoming municipal election.

Saying he's worked with a great group of people during his time on Council, and he had a few goals he accomplished during his term in office, he felt that now was the time step aside.

"Some of the highlights have been our ability to get the town in really food fiscal shape. And we've accomplished a lot of projects with the MEEP funding, as well as The Infrastructure Grant Program for the UV disinfection on the wells. We've done a lot of work with the EDC. We're trying to look down the road to make Shaunavon grow."

Greenslade also says in his time as mayor they were able to strengthen the ties with the surrounding RM's.

He says he believes fiscal responsibility is key coming out of COVID-19.
