A southwest Saskatchewan goaltender is travelling halfway across the world to Bolzano, Italy to compete in 2019 World Selects Invitational tournament.

The World Selects tournament features 18 teams and kids born in 2007 from all over the world including Canada, United States, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Belarus, Italy and Switzerland.

Goaltender Berney Weston will be representing the Swift Current PeeWee Broncos in the tournament and was named to the Draftday North America 07' team.

Weston isn't the only Saskatchewan kid heading to Italy as he will be joined by Cole Reschny (West Central AA PeeWees) from Macklin, and Reese Hamilton (Melville Millionaires PeeWee AA) from Whitewood.

The tournament goes from Tuesday to Saturday and Weston and the Draft day team's first game is against Slovakia Kings Selects.
