The results are in from the John Mueller Memorial "Give Me Shelter Radiothon" held on Friday at Market Square.

$10,146 was raised in support of the local SPCA.

"I can't believe it. It's been such an amazing day. Our support that we have had from the community and our businesses, residential as well, it's just been incredible." said Chris Johnson, Vice-President of the SPCA.

The Radiothon featured a variety of things to do, including having a photographer on-site to take photos of pets to be included in the SPCA 2016 Calendar for a $5 donation.

With the shelter being in danger of closing last year, the support from the community has continued to lend a helping hand.

"I just can't thank the community and surrounding areas enough for donating and volunteering. It's been great." Johnson added.

Regular donations are accepted at any time by visiting the Animal Shelter at 2101 Knight Crescent, the SPCA Used Bookstore at #37 - 1st Ave. N.E. or through the SPCA's Facebook page or website.
