The strike deadline of 1 o'clock has come and gone for the Heath Sciences Association of Saskatchewan with no reports to suggest a deal or picketing.

2700 health care workers are in a legal strike position, with the union calling for a 12% wage hike in a two year deal.

At this point, Premier Lorne Calvert says there aren't any plans at the moment for 'Back To Work' legislation, but adds that they will not rule it out if they deem it necessary.

Chris Driol, president of the Health Sciences Association, says everyone is working hard and things are moving along behind closed doors.

It's the second day of conciliation talks between the union and the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations after negotiations broke down June 13th.
