This week is Sustainable Transportation Week in Swift Current, which is organized by the Swift Current Citizens for Environmental Action.

Youth Member Alanna Howell says the purpose of the week is to encourage residents to get to and from work or school in a more environmentally friendly way.  They invite everyone to take up the challenge to try and use less fossil fuels to try and get where they are going.  Howell adds that climate change is something that can be tackled by everyone, and we can all make changes in our everyday lives to make a difference.

The week kicked off with a walk in the park yesterday, and continues with Cycling Awareness Day today; walk, ride, or carpool days on Tuesday and Thursday, Tel-a-Bus Awareness Day on Wednesday, and a special movie at the library on Saturday.
