A building supplies company is in some hot water after its licensing has gone belly up.

Fixed Building Products 2000 Ltd. is in some trouble with the Saskatchewan Consumer Affairs Authority, after they breached contract with two consumers, having failed on a purchased service.

Now, the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority wants to follow up with anyone Fixed Building Products 2000 had dealings with in Swift Current, to see if they are entitled to part of the penal bond that the company has been ordered to pay.

Contacting media outlets about this information is Denny Huyghebaert, executive director of customer protection for the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority.

"They've been struck from the corporate registry," shared Huyghebaert. "Our office has demanded the penal bond that's in place for the company and it was paid out to the FCAA."

Consumers can reach out to the FCAA, but they do need to fill out some paperwork. Folks will have to sign a claim and be able to provide sufficient evidence to show they have suffered a financial loss due to the actions of Fixed Building Products 2000 Ltd.

Anyone who beleives they are entitled can reach out to the FCAA by giving them a call at 306-787-5550 or emailing them at branch.consumerprotection@gov.sk.ca. The cut-off date for claim submissions is June 7, 2023.
