Dwain Lingenfelter's campaign for the leadership of the Saskatchewan NDP was put into question after 1100 party memberships were sold by an NDP volunteer without consent.

An investigation into the matter took place, led by Swift Current lawyer Robert Hale.  His report confirms that the volunteer sold the now-cancelled memberships on his own, and Lingenfelter himself had no knowledge of it.

Hale is also an NDP member and ran for the party in the Swift Current riding for the 2007 Provincial election.
