The Telus Walk To Cure Diabetes takes places today in Swift Current.
Ten year-old Hayden Hornung who was recently diagnosed with type one diabetes tells us why the walk is important.
"The money from the walk goes to doctors, so they can research to try and find a cure," she said.
Similar to last year participants are invited to walk or skate, as Denis Perrault explains.
"Nice day, we will be doing a little bit of walking outside but, more than likely, we will be walking up on the concourse level all around the iPlex. Were gonna have some pedometers there, and we have some goals we're going to set out, so give a person a chance to hit those targets, and goals on Saturday," Perrault.
Participants can arrive just before 2pm at the iPlex to register and the first 75 entrants will also receive a ticket to tonight's Bronco game courtesy of the Broncos.
