The Innovation Credit Union iPlex will be packed with stuffed animals in attendance tonight for the Swift Current Broncos game.

After a year hiatus due to the Broncos not having any home games in the 2020-21 season, the annual Teddy Bear Toss in support of the Swift Current Salvation Army will return.

"We're hoping to take the teddy bears and give them to whoever needs them," Swift Current Salvation Army's Lieutenant Bill Mailman said. "It doesn't even have to be kids, sometimes a teddy bear goes a long way to an adult making their Christmas bright."

In 2019 the event brought in 709 teddy bears or stuffies, 140 pairs of mitts, 78 toques, 31 mitt and toque sets, 66 pairs of socks, and nine scarves and headbands.

"Probably just go into hampers," he said. "We're hoping to give a teddy bear to every single hamper, not even just kids, you never know what a teddy bear will do [for Christmas spirit]."

This will be Mailman's first year involved with the Teddy Bear Toss in Swift Current and he's excited to experience it.
