In the April 26 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 245 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 245 new cases there are 10 in the Far North West zone, 17 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 39 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 20 in the Central East zone, and 80 in the Regina zone.

There are 8 new cases in the South West zone, 32 in the South Central zone, and 25 in the South East zone.

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the North West zone, and 1 to the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 40,177, of which 2,538 are considered active.

There are 106 active cases in the South West zone - 68 in the South West subzone 1, and 38 in the South West subzone 2.

There is one new death reported in the 60-69 age group from the Far North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 476.

There are 221 recoveries, bringing that provincial total to 37,163.

There are 187 people in the hospital. One hundred and forty-two of those people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North East zone, 6 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 52 in the Saskatoon zone, 6 in the Central East zone, and 58 in the Regina zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone, 4 in the South Central zone, and  7 in the South East zone.

There are  45 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 11 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, and 27 in the Regina zone.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 251 (20.5 new cases per 100,000 population).

To date, there have been 756,301 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 3,122 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of April 25, a total of 6,204 variants of concern have been identified by screening in the province - 85 in the Far North West zone, 2 in the Far North East zone, 156 in the North West zone, 91 in the North Central zone, 12 in the North East zone, 639 in the Saskatoon zone, 79 in the Central West zone, 266 in the Central East zone, and 3,511 in the Regina zone.

There are a total of 172 variant of concern cases in the South West zone, 472 in the South Central zone, and 644 in the South East zone.

There are 75 screened variants of concern with residence pending.

There are 0 new lineage results reported. Of the 2,152 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 2,138 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 9 ARE B.1.351 (SA), and 5 are P.1. (Brazilian),

The Regina zone accounts for 1,510 (or 70%) of the variants of concern cases with confirmed lineage reported.

An additional 3,639 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 403,384.

Of the 3,639 doses reported today, 60 were administered in the South West zone.

Fifty-seven percent of residents over 40 years of age have received their first dose of the vaccine. Thirty-eight percent of those 18+ have received their first dose.
