Looking forward to fall in Saskatchewan, there is some good news.

The Weather Network's 2012 Fall Outlook released this week shows that most of southern Saskatchewan and Alberta will have above normal temperatures for autumn.

"That's the good news, especially September and October, we will notice temperatures a little above normal," said Dayna Vettese, a Meteorologist for the Weather Network. "For precipitation, we are looking at things to pretty much be near normal, so your average type of fall weather."

Vettese adds it would appear the seasons have been slightly warmer than normal, but it's hard to say if this is necessarily a trend.

"We have been experiencing right across the country these above-average temperatures, and whether or not it's a one-time anomaly or whether it's a bigger trend, that remains to be seen," she added. "We'll have to get a few more data sets as the years come on, and then decide whether or not this is an ongoing trend."

Vettese adds it is a little too soon to tell when winter will hit, adding the Weather Network will release their winter outlook in November after watching the fall trends a little closer, but says we shouldn't think that because we may have gotten off easy with winter last time that it will be harsher this time.
