Swift Current Mall will be one of many busy places over the next two days

'Tis the season...for last minute shopping.

About a day and a half remains until the present must be wrapped and under the tree, and that means people who still have some Christmas shopping to do may be fighting through the crowds to finish that list.

Manager of the Swift Current Mall Tim Bugera says business at the mall has been comparable to last year but there is one uncontrollable element: "Weather always plays a factor locally for Christmas Shopping... last year it was tough to get out of town and you were unsure about the roads, so shoppers stuck around here more."

Bugera adds that they expect today and tomorrow to be very busy with shopping peaking tomorrow morning: "We always see a bit of a rush on the 23rd and 24th is 'crunch time', and a lot of people come in for last-minute stuff... we're predicting the morning of the 24th to be quite busy."

He reminds shoppers that the mall will close at 4:00pm on Christmas Eve.
