The case of a Tompkins man who had reportedly gone missing late last summer wrapped up this week.
Originally from October 11th, 2016:
RCMP was in Tompkins, at the home of John Ross, a man that was reported missing on Aug. 15, 2016. His truck was spotted in the Saskatchewan Landing park, but a subsequent search of the park and dredging of the water found nothing. RCMP executed a search warrant and found John Ross in his home. He and his wife Michelle Ross were arrested on site and charged with the following:
44-year-old John Ross:
- one count of Public Mischief, section 140 of the Criminal Code
- one count of Obstructing a peace officer, section 129 of the Criminal Code
39-year-old Michelle Ross:
- one count of Public Mischief, section 140 of the Criminal Code
- one count of Obstructing a peace officer, section 129 of the Criminal Code
John Ross pleaded guilty and was given a 3-month sentence.
Earlier this week, Michelle Ross entered a guilty plea to her charges, and was sentenced to a 6-month Conditional Sentence Order. The CSO includes four months of 24-hour curfew requiring her to remain in her house.
She is also required to pay $10,000 in restitution to the Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers for their efforts and the cost of the August 15, 2016 search.
