Many people have been enjoying this warm weather, but it hasn't been fun for those who want to skate at the outdoor rinks in Swift Current, which have been closed until further notice.
"We had a very good base that we had developed after the new year, but with the mild temperatures, we've had all kinds of problems with the ice," said Travis Bullied, Parks Superintendent with the City of Swift Current's Community Services department. "With the temperatures being as mild as they have been over the last couple of days, we're melted down now to the point where we don't really have a safe ice surface anymore."
The city will be updating their social media accounts as to when the rinks are open again.
In the meantime, ice times are available at the Fairview Arenas, and they can be booked by calling 306-778-2787.
