sunny

Weather in the Southwest is looking to continue its recent streak of 30 plus days as we reached a high of 32 yesterday afternoon.

It is a good change from the less then average temperature we have had all summer.

Full Interview with David Phillips"I mean normally in Swift Current you should have a high of 24, not 30 or 33 degrees," said Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada David Phillips. "So this is absolutely great. The quality of the crop should improve, the quantity should be there and this is what you want."

Phillips noted that things don't look to be slowing down either.

"As far as one can see ahead it is not just one or two days here and there. When you look into the long term when we head into this week and into the long weekend and next week it is rather monotonous, sunny and warm, temperatures that could be up to 30 and 33 degrees."

Phillips warned that all this warm weather does not mean that we won't see a frost through September though as temperatures could drop around the middle of the month.
