Hailing from Shaunavon, one of the country's most prominent hockey players has been once again inducted into a Hall of Fame.

It comes as no surprise that Hayley Wickenheiser earned a spot in the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, on September 23.

This is not her first prominent accolade but comes after four other inductions, including the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame, Hockey Hall of Fame, IIHF Hall of Fame, and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

Her historic career spanned over more than two decades and included many accomplishments, such as becoming Canada’s all-time leader in goals, assists, points, and games played during her time on the women's national team.

After retiring in 2017, she completed her medical degree to become a doctor. Wickenheiser is currently practicing medicine, and at the same time is the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Player Development Assistant General Manager.
