A pair of second-period goals were enough for the Regina Rebels this afternoon to down the visiting Swift Current Innovation Credit Union Wildcats in Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League action.

Rebels forward Greta Henderson's powerplay marker about halfway through the second period prevailed as the game-winner as the Wildcats fell to their first loss of the season 2-1.

The Wildcats received strong goaltending from Amaya Giraudier as she stopped 28 of the 30 shots she faced. And forward Jerzey Watteyne had Swift Current's lone goal halfway through the first period.

Rebels goaltender Payton Schlamp was just as sharp as Giraurdier making 24 saves picking up the win. Kaylee Dyer netted Regina's first goal of the game just a few minutes into the second period.

Swift Current falls to 1-1 on the year while Regina now sits at 1-0.

The two teams will meet again at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex on Sunday with puck drop scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
