Wildcats Play Three in Three

A busy weekend for the Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats with three female Midget AAA league games.

They're in Notre Dame tonight for a key game with a team only a point behind them in the standings. Swift Current is in 5th with 33 points, while the Hounds are a point back in 6th.

Terry Pavely Interview"We have one at home and one on the road (with Notre Dame)," said Wildcats Coach Terry Pavely. "Whoever wins that two game series between ourselves and Notre Dame puts themselves in a good position to finish higher in the standings. It's a really important game for us."

The teams have split the first two games of the season series. Swift Current only has one regular season win away from home all season and this is their final road game on the league schedule.

The Wildcats will then play a struggling Melville club at Fairview West Arena on Saturday and Sunday.

After losing once in two games with the last place Battlefords Sharks last weekend they can't take Melville for granted.

"A team a little bit lower than us in the standings but a team that works extremely hard," Pavely said. "I think it's going to be the same thing we faced this past weekend. If we're not ready to compete and we don't work hard it could be a real tough weekend. If we come to the rink with our hard hat on ready to work we'll give ourselves a chance to win both games."

The games with Melville are Saturday at 7:45pm and Sunday at 1pm at Fairview West Arena.
