People enjoying this year's Windscape Kite Festival

Another goal achieved at the Windscape Kite Festival with more ambitious goals set for the future.

"At Windscape we had just over 8,000 people this year, which was my goal," explained Shann Gowan, Cultural Festivals Coordinator. "Next year I want 10,000, so I've got my fingers crossed. About 55% of them were from Swift Current."

Gowan is already starting to plan for next year with new performers booked from England.

"We did a survey and about 98% of the people said that it was a fantastic day, and 94% of them said they were going to come back and tell their friends and family to come back, so I think we'll get our 10,000 next year," said Gowan.

Gowan added that they have also decided to maintain the Long Days' Night Music Festival at four days after a successful trial.
