The Swift Current Broncos struggled to find the back of the net in a home-and-home with the Saskatoon Blades, getting out-scored 12-2 the past two nights.

Swift Current allowed two first-period goals on Friday in Saskatoon, which set the tone for Game 1 of the two-game set.

Saskatoon added one more in the second and two in the third to take a 5-0 victory over the Broncos in their home half.

Tristen Robins had a game-high two goals and one assist for the Blades, while the Broncos needed to use both goalies in the loss.

Isaiah DiLaura exited the game just nine minutes in, having allowed two goals on five shots. Isaac Poulter stopped 31 of the remaining 34 the Blades threw on net.

Then, Saturday night back in the southwest, the Broncos show much better push back, though it came in a 7-2 loss at the iPlex.

The Blades again put two on the board in the opening frame, but Swift Current was able to counter not long into the second.

Cole Nagy put home his fourth of the season to trim the deficit to just one.

It stayed a one-goal game until the final five minutes of the period - the Blades scored with 4:46 and 2:28 to go in the second to make it a 4-1 deficit.

Aiden Bulych was able to pot his 10th of his rookie campaign a minute-and-a-half after that though to keep it a 4-2 game after 40 minutes.

However, Saskatoon scored just 17 seconds into the third to restore their three-goal lead, and they didn't look back. Two more goals were put up to make it that 7-2 final - the first came 5:16 into the final frame, with the final midway through the period.

Poulter was back between the pipes again, making 34 saves. A highlight offensively was a two-assist night by D-Jay Jerome, who now has a goal and four points in five games as a Bronco.

Swift Current doesn't have to stray from the iPlex for their next action, as they host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night.
