The Swift Current Broncos have opened up an overage slot by releasing veteran defenceman Griffin Foulk.

Swift Current added him from Lethbridge last season for a conditional 8th round bantam draft pick in 2016. he produced 4 points in 38 games with the Broncos.

The veteran of 191 WHL games was part of a crowded blue line this season that is now down to a more manageable eight players.

His release also opens a third overage spot on Swift Current's roster as teams around the league begin to cut down in before next month's overage deadline.

The Broncos head to Red Deer on Friday and visit Edmonton on Sunday. You can hear both games on The Eagle 94.1 FM.
