The Swift Current Indians 2016 WMBL campaign is almost here.

With the opening date drawing closer, Bruce Deg, President of the Swift Current Indians says plenty of work has gone into preparing the season.

"The board and Joe Carnahan have put a lot of work in to get to this point in the season. Joe and Harv  do a lot of recruiting and we are doing the other end of it, the business end. Making sure there is a place to play and funds in place to make sure we can bring these kids up here," he said.

Deg adds they have also continued to grow the fan experience at Mitchell Field.

"We have some new attractions at the ballpark this year, including a patio deck, which is an opportunity for a group of 20 people to come and be served. Get some pizza and have a nice deck to sit on. In fact, the deck is open Sunday if anyone is interesting in renting it," he added.

The Indians will open their season in Moose Jaw on Saturday before hosting the Miller Express on Sunday.
