Indains Generic Bench

The Swift Current Indians head to Regina for the first time this season to take on the defending champion Red Sox Tuesday night.

"They're a tough team," said Indians Coach Joe Carnahan. "They're defending champions, won it two years in a row now so we've got to go to their park and we've got to play solid baseball."

"It's going to be a good opportunity for us to see where we're at.

The Indians won the only match-up between the two teams this season in Swift Current with Chris Haddeland getting the victory on the mound.

Haddeland will get the ball again on Tuesday looking to bounce back after he struggled his last time out in Medicine Hat.

"He threw well here against (Regina)," Carnahan said. "We expect him to come in and pound the zone and we're going to have to play good defence behind him."

"He uncharacteristically left some balls up (in Medicine Hat) and that's not him. He kind of tweaked some things with his mechanics to get him on track to where he was. He'll have a good start for us."

Haddeland is 1-1 on the season with a 2.50 earned run average.

The 12-5 Indians lead the Central Division, while Regina is 9-9 and second in the East Division. The Red Sox have lost 3 straight games.
