Jaydan Hart scored a hat trick and Ryan Parenteau made 44 saves as the Prince Albert Raiders beat the Swift Current Broncos 6-2 on Friday night.

The Raiders picked up where they left off last Saturday with the first seven shots of the game in the process of taking a quick 2-0 lead. A Swift Current shorthanded 3 on 2 resulted in the same kind of rush going the other way and Hart scoring his 9th of the season.

Hart struck again when Broncos goaltender Landon Bow got knocked down by a Raider who was checked into him. That left the net wide open for Hart who made no mistake on his 10th.

Swift Current turned to physicality trying to get some emotion back in the game. Carter Rigby dropped the gloves with Tim Vanstone and Glenn Gawdin fought Darcy Zaharichuk in scraps that seemed to inspire the Broncos. They controlled the play for the remainder of the period and nearly evened up the shots.

That pressure didn't lead to a goal, but Prince Albert was able to extend their lead on Brycen Martin turnover that Craig Leverton put home for his 12th goal of the season and third point of the period.

The Broncos came on strong in the second period with 23 shots to only 9 for the Raiders. Jake DeBrusk drew a penalty and converted on a power play midway through the period to cut Prince Albert's lead to 3-1 on a nice deflection of a Dillon Heatherington shot.

That momentum was stalled when Reid Gardiner took advantage of Ayrton Nikkel falling to break in on Bow and make it 4-1 Prince Albert. Bow was pulled from the game after allowing 4 goals on 18 shots. Travis Child came in and stopped all 8 shots he saw in relief.

Only 40 seconds after the Raiders restored their three-goal lead, Andreas Schumacher cut into it again with a hard show through traffic for his 3rd of the season. Kristian Ferletak earned his first career point with an assist on the goal.

That's all the offence the Broncos could manage. Coda Gordon had two terrific third period chances but couldn't find the net as his point streak was snapped at 15 games.

Gardiner and Hart added empty-netters for the Raiders late. Hart's goal gave him a hat trick, while Gardiner has scored four times in two games against Swift Current.

The Broncos ended up 1 for 5 on the power play, while Prince Albert scored on their lone opportunity with the man advantage.

Swift Current heads to Saskatoon on Saturday night. You can hear the game on The Eagle 94.1 FM with our pre-game show at 6:30pm.
