Once again, Maple Creek was able to get the better of Shaunavon in 9-man football action Thursday night.

Playing under the light at Shadows Field, the Redmen scored a 48-21 road victory over the Shadows.

Shaunavon Head Coach Garret Glasrud says they had a tough time containing the Redmen ground game.

"That is a tough one, they have a little bit of a deeper bench than us," he said.

"Those guys are using a lot of misdirection, they're legs are fresh and when we don't have the capability of having a huge bench this year, so by the third and fourth quarter our guys are starting to get worn out and their guys are still fresh."

The loss drops Shaunavon to 1-3 on the season, however, Head Coach Garret Glasrud says they just need to keep grinding away.

"The good news is we always play tough against Lumsden, I don't know if it is a mental thing or what but the last three years we have always played tough with them," he said.

"We just have to get back to work and back to practice. We will get some of our fundamentals keyed up, we need to change a few things about how we practice and finish out the next two weeks strong."

With the victory, the Redmen improve to 3-1 on the season.

Shaunavon will battle Lumsden on Thursday, meanwhile, Maple Creek will take on Fort Qu'Appelle, also on Thursday.
