Saskatchewan Roughriders slotback Weston Dressler returned home from Montreal on Monday with a bloodshot eye thanks to an eye gouge from Alouettes defensive back Dwight Anderson.

The play happened late in Sunday’s 27-24 win for the Riders and replays show Anderson sticking his hand in Dressler’s helmet.

“It caught me off guard a little bit, but I guess anything is possible with him out there,” said Dressler on the Riders return to Regina on Monday.

“I feel good.  Just happy we got the win.”

The Riders say they plan to contact the league regarding the play with the hope that Anderson is suspended or fined.

Riders quarterback Darian Durant added that there’s no place for it in the game, “I’m pretty sure he knows that he got caught up in the heat of the moment of the game, but of course I don’t agree with it, I don’t think there’s any room for that.”

As of Tuesday morning, there had been no word from the CFL on any discipline.

“I don’t really have much to say about him and the way that he plays the game, but I’m just happy that our team went in there, we played a great game and were able to get the win,” finished Dressler.
