Five SWAC senior volleyball teams were at SHSAA Provincials this weekend.
The first of two consecutive provincial championship weekends saw the 1A-5A Girls and 5A Boys teams in action.
The best finish of the weekend was the Swift Current Comp Senior Colts, who secured a bronze medal at 5A Boys Provincials in Regina.
The Senior Colts were 3-1 in Pool B play:
Won 2-1 over Saskatoon St Joseph
Won 2-1 over Regina Winston Knoll
Won 2-1 over Regina LeBoldus
Lost 2-0 to Meadow Lake
Into the quarter-finals, the Colts swept Weyburn in two-straight sets, but lost in two-straight in the semis to P.A. St. Mary.
That brought up a bronze-medal match against Balgonie Greenall - a team the Colts were 1-2 against over the course of the tournament season and Regionals.
There, Swift brought their record up to .500 against the Griffins, as they clinched third place with a straight-set win.
Elsewhere, it was a quartet of quarter-final exits for the remainder of SWAC teams in action.
