A former Swift Current Broncos coach is on the move inside the Western Hockey League again.

Earlier today the Spokane Chiefs announced they've hired Ryan Smith as the organization's new associate coach.

Smith spent the past two years as an assistant coach with the Medicine Hat Tigers helping guide them to a 76-46-0-9 record.

Before his tenure with the Broncos Trans-Canada Highway rivals, he spent three years (2015 to 2018) in Swift Current.

His last year in Swift Current culminated in an Ed Chynoweth Cup for the team ending a 25-year championship drought for the franchise.
