Not quite enough.

That was the common theme in the Saskatchewan Female Midget 'AAA' Hockey League Final over the past week.

With their backs against the wall, the Diamond Energy Wildcats came up just short against the Saskatoon Stars, dropping their third straight one goal game to the Stars, as well as the series.

After Swift Current began the series with a 4-3 win in game one, the Wildcats fell 1-0 in game two, 2-1 in game three and 4-3 in overtime in game four.

In Saturday night's game four contest, Saskatoon took a 1-0 lead after one before the Wildcats stormed back for a 3-1 lead in the second off of goals by Josee Casavant, Janessa Fournier and Taylor Kirwan.

The Stars were able to cut the lead to 3-2 later in the second before tying the game with 10:57 left in the third.

Then just over fourteen minutes into the first overtime, Saskatoon scored the game winning and series clinching goal, securing the Stars their second straight league championship.

In the loss, Wildcats goalie Jasey Book made 35 saves.

The best of five series ended 3-1 for Saskatoon.
