indians score

The Swift Current Indians head into action tonight comfortable in the knowledge they have a WMBL playoff spot locked up.

They beat Lethbridge in both ends of a doubleheader on Monday night to secure entry to the post-season.

Coach Joe Carnahan isn't satisfied just making it in.

"This is the longest we've been in a playoff race in a while," Carnahan said. "We still have some business to take care of, we want to win the division and then move on from there into the playoffs."

The Indians are 4 and a half games up on Moose Jaw for the Central Division crown with five games to play.

The Tribe are home to Medicine Hat this evening.

"Medicine Hat is a good team," Carnahan said. "They can pitch, field, they've got some good base runners and they've got some guys who can put the ball out of the park. It's going to be a big test for us. It's gonna be fun."

First pitch is 7:05pm at Mitchell Field.
