Cypress Hill-Grasslands MP, David Anderson has removed a video from his website and apologized to anyone offended after complaints from National Inuit leader, Mary Simon.

A YouTube user named "The SaskFarmer" posted the animated video eleven months ago and it had been embedded in Anderson's site.

The Conservative parliamentary secretary for the Canadian Wheat Board has been facing criticism for the video and a call in the House of Commons for an apology. It depicts a fictional member of the CWB talking to a Saskatchewan wheat farmer and using the phrase "talking Eskimo".

Simon called the phrase a racist slur.

"The comment is offensive to Inuit, has no place in public discussion, and certainly no place on the website of an elected member of Parliament," Simon said in a statement. "My hope is that the MP in question did not know it was part of the animated video, and that it will be removed immediately."

“This video was removed as soon as soon as I became aware of the offending language,” Anderson said. "I apologize to anyone who was offended by the content of the video."
