Credit Unions across Saskatchewan have contributed $11.2 million to communities around the province in 2010. That`s an increase of 68 percent over the past year.
That according to the annual Community Involvement Survey done by Credit Union Central of Canada.
Saskatchewan is also known for it`s generosity and hard working volunteers. At the Shaunavon Credit Union, Marketing Coordinator Lyanne Campbell says they donate more than 2500 hours in volunteer time annually.
Volunteer hours donated by Credit Unions across the country rose 21% to 91,000 hours.
