The TSN Kraft Celebration Tour will not be coming back to the southwest this year, but it could end up not far from here.

The town of Kerrobert, located north of Kindersley, was named one of the 20 finalists for the tour, and are in the running for a $25,000 community award from Kraft and the chance to host a live SportsCentre broadcast this summer. They will compete with the community of Porcupine Plain later this week for one of 10 spots on the nationwide tour.

"We want to get all new puckboard for the boards, the boards been used and puckboard's expensive and there's cracks, that's one of the main things," said Kerrobert Recreation Director Shane Marsh. "There's different things around the rink that need to be done up and even small things add up. So there's definitely things we need in the rink, puckboard and the boards itself, if we can get some of those replaced and wherever the money can go."

Last year, the Kraft Celebration Tour stopped in Kyle after coming to Outlook in 2010 and Watrous in 2009.

Voting between Kerrobert and Porcupine Plain opens at 10:00am on July 13th, and you can vote online at kraftcelebrationtour.ca. There is no limit on the amount of votes cast, and the voting will continue until 9:59am the following day.
