Full Interview with Tim McMillan"As far as driving investment to our province, the number of people working in the industry is substantial, and seeing these record numbers coming out this year with the industry facing some real challenges on pipeline capacity. I think it speaks to the strength of the industry and the strength of the resource we have here in our province," said Minister responsible for Energy and Resources Tim McMillan.

Saskatchewan is the second largest oil producing province in Canada and creates 34,000 jobs directly and indirectly in the province.

"We see the communities that are heavily invested. Lloydminister, Estevan, Weyburn, Swift Current continue to see the growth and the reason that these types of investments are important to our communities," added McMillan. "It means more kids in schools and more families to our province."

The oil and gas sector is the largest contibutor to the provinces GDP, making up around 21 per cent.
