The third round of weekend protests kicked off in Swift Current, and the message from the demonstrators is clear, they plan to stay until a change is made.

For the last three Saturdays, protesters wearing yellow vests have been gathering in Swift Current, rallying around the central issues of the carbon tax, Canadian immigration policy, and general gripes with the federal government not accurately representing the views of the people.

The protest was held at city hall, where members of the group said that they plan on continuing to demonstrate every Saturday until they can bring about change.

Honks from the vehicles driving by to show support were frequently heard during the demonstration.

Micheal Krause was at the protest, and said that the group's primary objective is to put a government in place which actually represents the people.

He said that from the first to second outing, attending members tripled, and he expects the same growth in the future.

"This one's a little lower so far, just because it's Christmas season, the weather's not that great, kind of stuff, but a lot of people were telling me next time they're going to be here once Christmas stuff is done, so I expect it to probably even triple again."

Krause spoke on the level of support that the group had received so far, saying that people had even been bringing hot drinks and doughnuts for them.

"Here it's been all positive, there's been absolutely no negative feedback," he commented. "How can you be against standing for the people?"

Krause said that even Swift Current Mayor Denis Perrault had driven past, honking and waving at the group.

Perrault said he did wave and honk at the group, but his intentions were more friendly, rather than political.

"I'm proud to live in a country that embraces the freedom of speech," Perrault via a text message. "With all of the protests across Canada we can see that our nation's unity is at an all-time low... I'm hopeful that the current federal leaders acknowledge these messages and work to bring OUR country back as a united one."
