The Swift Current 57’s will have some local faces when the season gets going again this summer.

The team announced today that Ethan Murdoch has been added to the roster. He was named Baseball Saskatchewan’s player of the year in 2021 after a stellar final year at the U18 AAA level that saw him hit .449 with three homers and 44 RBI. Murdoch has been playing with McCook Community College in Nebraska where he hit .315 with 44 RBI and 16 homers in 2022 before his season was cut short by injury.

Another Swift Current minor ball alum in Brody Alexandre will be returning for his second season with the 57’s. He hit eight home runs and drove in 31 runs over 47 games last season.

Opening day for the 57’s is on May 26 when they visit the Regina Red Sox, and the home opener will be the following night against the Red Sox at Mitchell Field.
