Five ministers were replaced during yesterday's shuffle of the Saskatchewan cabinet, with four joining the Saskatchewan Party leadership race.

One person also in the race that's not an MLA is former-Deputy Minister Alanna Koch.

In 2016 Koch became the province's first female deputy minister to the premier. She was deputy minister of agriculture from 2007 until becoming the province's top civil servant.

Koch has also been president of the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance and executive director of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association.
