The Early Childhood Action Coalition and Swift Current's Bright Beginnings Family Center will be hosting a number of activities as part of National Children's day today.

The Early Childhood Action Coalition has come up with an interactive event for families with children under 8 years of age to celebrate the new charter of children's rights that was released earlier this year, and Executive Director for Bright Beginnings, Jenise Tisdale, says they are happy to host the event.

"National Children's Day is always a chance for us to focus on children and celebrating children, and this event gives parents the opportunity to come out and learn a little bit more about the children's charter of rights and have some fun," she says. "We've got different stations set up according to each one of the rights of a child. Kids can learn about safety and belonging to the community and all about themselves, and they can have fun playing with different toys and doing crafts, and a variety of other activities."

The event will be held from 6pm to 8pm at the Bright Beginnings Family Center.
