Last years Diabetes Walk

You can take a step toward helping people with Diabetes in the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes today in Swift Current.

The money raised in today's walk will go to the JDRF to fund research toward a cure for Type 1 Diabetes and help make life better for people living with the disease.

You can register at 1:00pm at the Colonel Clifton Centre, and the walk will start from there at 2:00pm.

"I have to poke my finger, give myself insulin through my insulin pump and count carbs." said Noah Steinley, who has had diabetes for four years, and added as a kid having diabetes is tough.

Steinley would like to see people come out and support the walk, and you're welcome to wear a halloween costume as well.

"We're going to give prizes out for the best costume, there's snowcones, face painting, bouncy houses, balloon animals, popcorn, games."

Last year, the TELUS walks raised over 7.5 million dollars across Canada for the JDRF.
