In the spirit of the 101st Grey Cup game on Sunday in Regina, World Weather Inc. Agri-Meteorologist Drew Lerner, the voice of Country Music Radio's Agri-Weather reports through the growing season, provided us with his forecast for the big game.

Returning colder air from northern Canada will be in a bigger hurry to rush through the Prairies Sunday afternoon and evening changing the game time weather so that it is a little cooler and breezier, but there will still be no precipitation and skies will at least be partly cloudy.

GAME DAY will start out cloudy as a cool front pushes through the region. Clearing is likely in the late morning or early afternoon Sunday and partly cloudy skies will be around during the game.  Most of the high winds occurring today  will be over by morning Sunday. The lightest wind will occur during the morning and early afternoon. Slowly increasing wind from the northwest and some increase in cloud cover will occur just prior to game time and during the gam. Because of the quicker moving cold airmass temperatures will peak out near freezing in the early afternoon and then cool during the late afternoon and evening. Game time temperatures may be around –2 and will slip to –5 by the time the game is over. Wind speeds will be 15 to 25 kph and gusts to 30 kph just prior to the game, but will increase to the range of 20 to 30 kph and gusts to 40 by the end of the game. The prevailing wind direction will be northwesterly.

Travel home Sunday evening and Monday will still be favorable with no risk of precipitation and continued light winds from the north northwest. Partly Cloudy conditions will prevail Monday and much better travel conditions out of the Regina area will occur relative to the ride in on Saturday.
