Additional funding to help improve technology infrastructure in our province's libraries, schools, and regional colleges has been announced by the Saskatchewan government.

Minister of Advanced Education, Employment, and Labour, Rob Norris put up $10 million in funding.

Director of Education with the Chinook School Division, Liam Choo-Foo says of those funds, a good portion will be put to use here in the southwest.  Four million dollars will go into the K-12 sector, and that money will go into three major provincial initiatives.

Among the infrastructure to be upgraded will be a satellite network, CommunityNet connections in the schools, and the Blackboard management system.
