Producers from across Canada and around the world will be coming to Regina this week for Canada's Farm Progress Show.

This year's event features millions of dollars worth of farm equipment on the grounds at EVRAZ Place, and it is also a showcase for the latest technology and innovations for producers, with 41 new product launches.

"All the equipment you could need is right here," said Show Manager Rob O'Connor. "It's the largest show in Canada, it has more exhibitors than any other show in Canada, and it also offers those companies who want to showcase their equipment to the farming public, it's the only place where they can bring everything."

The show will display the advancements in technology on the farm, with O'Connor noting that just 15 years ago, GPS was the latest big thing on the farm. Now today, it is a major part of farm operations and the basis for the next generation of innovations.

"The innovations are really around how precise we are, partly because of the benefits we get from things like GPS," he added.

The show attracts an average 45,000 per year over the three days, and O'Connor says over 800 exhibitors will be on hand.

"The majority are from Western Canada, but we do have exhibitors here from Germany and Australia, and we have a large exhibit from Jiangsu Province in China," he said. "It is a beautiful exhibit with some really nifty looking Chinese tractors."

The show continues until Friday.
