Museum-1

A Pre-Valentine's Day Family Dance and Box Social will be held as a final farewell to the current Eastend Historical Museum.

Ethel Wills, one of the treasurers with the museum says this event is a fitting farewell.

"Were holding this farewell for the building. When the building was first donated to the museum they had a family dance and box social. That was in 1981. So we thought, what a fitting way for the museum to close in exactly the same way."

Wills says there will be a number of events going on that evening.

"The dance starts at 7:00 and at 8:30 we will be doing the live auction. We also have some activities for the children. We will have some cupcake decorating and line dancing and hopefully we will get a few little people"

The boxes that will be auctioned will contain lunches and anyone is welcome to make and submit a box to auction as well as anyone is welcome to bid on them.

The event takes place Saturday, February 7th from 6:30pm-11:30pm.

Admission is by donation and all funds raised from admission and the auction will be going towards a new building for the museum which it is hoped will be built by the Fall of 2016.
